This notice covers the two forms for the textbook RAMBLE in the JUNGLE: Debating Africa and the World: the optional updates sign-up and the teacher-edition request. Reading the book or downloading the student edition needs no form and no account.
Who is responsible
WANAKU LLC is responsible for the information you give in these forms. Contact: kenn.wanaku@gmail.com.
What we collect, and why
- Updates sign-up: your email address, your name if you give it, whether you are a teacher, school administrator, parent or other, and when you agreed to receive emails and the wording you agreed to. We use it only to send occasional emails about this textbook, such as new units.
- Teacher-edition request: your name, email, school or organization, the subject you teach, your country and any message. We use it to decide whether to share the teacher edition, which contains the answer key, and to reply to you.
- Spam protection: to limit repeated submissions we keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your internet address and email address, never your internet address itself, and we delete these records after two days.
The forms are for educators and adults aged 16 or over. We don’t sell your information or use it for advertising, and only WANAKU LLC’s administrators can see it.
Where it is kept
The information is stored in our database, run by Supabase, and the site is hosted by Vercel. When we send emails, we use Resend. These companies handle the information on our behalf only.
How long we keep it
We keep your sign-up until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. If you unsubscribe, we keep your email address marked as unsubscribed so that we don’t email you again; ask us if you would rather it were deleted completely. We keep teacher-edition requests while we manage access to the teacher edition, and delete them when you ask.
Unsubscribing, and your other choices
- Unsubscribe: use the link at the bottom of any textbook email. It takes one click.
- See, correct or delete your information: email kenn.wanaku@gmail.com from the address you used, and say what you would like us to do.
