The Deliberate Dismantling of the Neo-Culture of a Nascent West African Modern Anglophone State

Brothers and sisters,

We are 30+ years late in kick-starting the revolution to rebuild our communities, which have suffered 30+ years of so-called "administering" by people who do not have the interests of our people at heart.

If you think about it, it is not their fault that they have not done much to help our people. It is just that they are NOT QUALIFIED to do so. In other words, they (whoever they are) HAVE NO CLUE where to start helping our people.

The result is that our people are caught in an endless loop of "change but no change". From the day Ahidjo's (French-trained) army (now Biya's) marched into the then State of West Cameroon until today, the only change our people have known is (pay attention now…) the deliberate dismantling of the neo-culture of a nascent West African modern Anglophone state.

Don't ask me what culture has replaced our dismantled, mangled national culture, because… look around you. You are living the Ahidjo/Biya CNU/CPDM culture, whose language, passed down to the youth, is "camfranglais": a successful attempt to water down the quality of the English that the citizens of the State of former British Southern Cameroons should read, write and speak.

Why would someone want to water down the quality of a language used by a whole community for its education, business and communication with the world? You think about it and tell me.

And while you are at it, I have just one more thing to say: our citizens (of the State of former British Southern Cameroons) have to remember just this one compound word: Self-Rule!

One more time: we are 30+ years late in taking action. May the ancestors protect our people.
