Your account

An account is free. You need one to register for activities and contests and to send in entries. Reading the site doesn't need one.

Creating an account

1. Press Join at the top of the page (or go to the Join page).
2. Enter your email address and choose a password of at least 6 characters. Press Create account.
3. You'll see Check your email. Open the email we send you and press the confirmation link. If it isn't in your inbox, look in your spam or promotions folder.
4. Come back and log in.

Until you confirm your email you can't log in. You'll see “Please confirm your email first”.

Logging in and out

• Press Log in, and enter your email and password.
• Once you're logged in, your name (or email) appears at the top with your role underneath, for example member. Press it to open your profile.
• Press Log out when you've finished, especially on a shared phone or computer.

Forgot your password?

1. On the Log in page, press Forgot your password? (or go to Reset your password).
2. Enter the email you registered with. We send you a link.
3. Open the link and choose a new password (at least 6 characters, typed twice). You'll then be taken to your profile.

Each link works once and only for a limited time. If you see Link expired, just ask for a new one. For your safety, the site doesn't say whether an email address has an account, so if no email arrives, check the spelling and your spam folder.

Your profile

On your profile you can set:

• Display name: how you appear to others on the site.
• Bio and photo (both optional): shown publicly only if you're chosen as a contest judge.

If you sent us a message while logged in, it's listed under Your messages with its status: Received, Under review or Resolved.

Changing your email or deleting your account

There's no button for these yet. Send us a message from the Contact page, using the email address on your account, and say what you'd like. See also Privacy.
